Aims of the cross-cultural journey

The aim of the site is to assist the learner to enhance their understanding and skills for working effectively across cultures. The metaphor is a journey where you can choose the routes you are most interested in. The objectives are to enable the learner to:
  • Deepen their understanding of why it is important to recognize cultural difference
    • Explore different approaches to working within a culturally diverse learning community
  • Identify common problems encountered when trying to implement more culturally appropriate practices
  • Understand why some common responses to cultural diversity may be inappropriate
  • Enlarge their repertoire of skills for working in this environment
