Aims of the cross-cultural journey
The aim of the site is to assist the learner to enhance their understanding and skills for working effectively across cultures. The metaphor is a journey where you can choose the routes you are most interested in.
The objectives are to enable the learner to:
- Deepen their understanding of why it is important to recognize cultural difference Explore different approaches to working within a culturally diverse learning community
- Identify common problems encountered when trying to implement more culturally appropriate practices
- Understand why some common responses to cultural diversity may be inappropriate
- Enlarge their repertoire of skills for working in this environment
